About the Organisation

bluetriangle.org.uk

Blue Triangle was incorporated in 1975 through the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA), initially to provide services through one property in Glasgow for young single women. In 1991 it became its own legal entity when it split from the YWCA.

Blue Triangle provides support in a range of settings including: Supported accommodation for adults, first stop and/or emergency accommodation, gender specific services, ‘Housing First,’ rapid rehousing, outreach support, peer recovery outreach support, and ‘Young Persons’ and ‘Care Experienced’ supported accommodation.

Blue Triangle has operated at the intersection of Social Care and Social Justice in Scotland since 1975. They are unique as a national registered care provider, registered social landlord, and registered charity. They deliver over 30 services, in nine local authority areas, supporting over 400 people every day, who have experience of/are experiencing Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), adult trauma, drug & alcohol addiction, repeat homelessness and repeat offending. They operate at the nexus of the Hard Edges context, where complex interdependencies across homelessness, addiction, offending, trauma, and fragile mental health are the reality. Their mission is to empower people to thrive and at the heart of our strategy is to deploy innovative solutions to achieve this for whole families and across whole communities.

Their locations are Argyll & Bute, West Dunbartonshire, Renfrewshire, Glasgow, Falkirk, East Lothian, South & North Lanarkshire, South & East Ayrshire.

The Charity have acquired a block of flats in Glasgow that are in desperate need of refurbishment before they can move any supported people in as occupants. Blue Triangle’s property manager has completed an initial survey of the building, to collate estimated costs of renovation to bring the building/properties up to standard- they have £32,000 to complete the refurbishment and open the service.

They are seeking help for the following items: 2 new bathrooms, 2 new kitchens, plastering/filling/painting of the shared hallway and flats, doors, skirtings, and facings, door entry system, CCTV, new window or glass (smashed in the shared hallway), landscaping of the garden.

The entire building needs refurbishing, so they would be grateful to receive any support in materials, or fit-out/decoration services, as this would bring them a step closer to launching the service, which is currently 6 months behind schedule.
