StreetSmart
StreetSmart works with restaurants and pubs across the UK to raise money for vulnerable and homeless members of their local community by adding a £1 donation to each diner's bill during the months of November and December.

As part of our 40 Stories of Impact series we are shining a light on one of the biggest partnerships in LandAid history, StreetSmart.
For the past 7 years our partnership with StreetSmart has helped us reach more young people, make more impact and change more lives. We are proud to include this partnership as one of the milestone moments throughout the 40 years of LandAid history, as we look forward to more fruitful years of collaboration.
This last 2025 StreetSmart campaign raised a record braking £1,178,000 which we will be distributing through this years Young Futures Fund grants round focusing specifically on housing and young peoples housing needs.
Thank you to all the hundreds of restaurants who have participated throughout the years, who by encouraging diners to add just £1 to their bill, have helped us raise millions to go directly into changing young lives around the UK.
I've been luckily enough to partner with StreetSmart for the past 4 years and have seen first hand how a small donation can make a massive difference for the people in our community most in need. It's a chance to give back and it reminds us all what true hospitality really means.Tom Booton, Chef at The Grill at The Dorchester
LandAid covers all campaign costs and plays a vital role in distributing funds to ensure that 100% of donations go directly to local projects helping those in greatest need.
Every penny raised in each city stays local, supporting frontline projects that provide sustainable solutions to homelessness – with a strong focus on young people aged 16–25. The urgency of this work continues to grow in the past year alone, there’s been a 10% rise in the number of young people facing homelessness, bringing the total to a staggering 118,000.
Paul Morrish, Chief Executive at LandAid, said: “The generosity of diners and the commitment of the hospitality sector is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when communities come together with purpose. At LandAid, we’re proud to stand alongside StreetSmart, ensuring that every pound raised helps transform the lives of young people facing homelessness – offering them hope, dignity and a brighter future.”
Since its launch in 1998, pioneering fundraising initiative StreetSmart has raised over £15 million to support people experiencing homelessness. Now active in 22 regions across the UK, the campaign continues to see more and more money come in to create even bigger impact.
It is such an incredible organisation achieving maximum impact. Due to the way it works, with the money going to multiple reputable projects across the UK, StreetSmart tackles homelessness at its roots and at a time when it is needed most.Charlie Gilkes, co-founder of Inception Group
