The event has evolved from the LandAid 10K to the Race for LandAid, introducing new distances and a fresh new venue. What excites Allsop about these changes?
“We are really excited about the new venue which we think will bring new energy and possibly attract a wider pool of runners. We also really love the idea of making the event more accessible to participants with different abilities and preferences. A choice of distances means more people can join in a way that suits them, whether they’re seasoned runners or first-timers. Ultimately, these changes will help raise more awareness and funds for youth homelessness, which is what matters most.”
Inclusivity is a key theme this year, welcoming participants of all ages and even pets. How does this align with Allsop’s values?
“We believe that diversity and inclusivity strengthen communities and drive positive change. By welcoming participants of all ages, Race for LandAid creates an accessible event that brings together different generations and creates a family-friendly atmosphere. And of course, we really look forward to seeing some athletic pets competing on the day.”
For those considering joining the Race for LandAid, what message would you like to share?
“I think the perception of participating in this event is often as simple as ‘it’s fun and for a good cause’. But participation in this event has a huge impact. Every step and – remembering my own attempt at a 5K – every painful stride, directly contributes to changing young lives. Beyond the funds raised, involvement in this event helps raise awareness about youth homelessness and demonstrates the property industry’s commitment to addressing this issue. It’s also a brilliant opportunity to connect with colleagues and peers while making a difference. Whether you run, jog, or walk, your participation will have a lasting impact on young people facing homelessness.”
