Backing StreetSmart: How LandAid’s Property Connections Drive Success

StreetSmart allows diners across the UK to add just £1 to their restaurant bill in support tackling homelessness. Find out more about this years campaign, and what LandAid is doing.

Each winter, diners across the UK add just £1 to their restaurant bill in support of StreetSmart, a campaign that transforms small gestures into significant change.

LandAid powers this campaign because we know the connection is clear: the hospitality sector can raise vital funds, our network can help recruit venues, and we, as the property industry charity, ensure every penny supports young people experiencing homelessness.

Why LandAid Powers StreetSmart

LandAid plays a unique role in linking the property industry with impactful campaigns like StreetSmart.

While we don’t run the campaign directly, we provide the funding, strategic support, and vital property-sector connection to help it grow.

From landlords and developers, to managing agents and BIDs, our network has the power to make a difference.

By supporting StreetSmart, we ensure that donations made by diners reach high-impact youth homelessness projects across the UK.

LandAid Connects with CityCo to Recruit Restuarants

This year, CityCo supported StreetSmart in Manchester, and they’ve wasted no time getting involved.

Through their extensive business networks, CityCo are uniquely placed to connect with hospitality businesses across the city.

By leveraging their local knowledge and relationships, they’ve helped onboard a range of restaurants into the campaign.

CityCo is proud to support Manchester's Street Homeless Community through a new partnership with StreetSmart and LandAid. For over a decade, Manchester's business community has backed Real Change MCR - a vital fund that helps people move off the streets and into safe, permanent accommodation. This winter, we welcome the opportunity to collaborate with StreetSmart and LandAid to further that mission. Together, small gestures can lead to real change.

Local Engagement in Action

Thanks to CityCo’s outreach, several well-know Manchester venues are already signed up for the 2025 campaign:

  • Ezra & Gil;
  • Blue Eyed Panda;
  • Frog and Bucket.

This winter, these venues will be helping raise vital funds for local youth homelessness services in Greater Manchester through StreetSmart.

StreetSmart has raised millions over the years and 100% of diner donations go directly to projects supporting young people experiencing homelessness. In Manchester, funds raised will support local organisations through the Real Change MCR initiative.

Our Property Partners Can Make a Difference

If you work in the property industry, this is a perfect example of how your networks can drive change. This campaign shows the potential for future partnerships, where hospitality and property come together to tackle youth homelessness. While recruitment for this year's StreetSmart campaign is now closed, the impact is just beginning.
