Partner Spotlight: Derwent London

This month, we’re celebrating Derwent London’s 15-Year Partnership with LandAid and their new Cornerstone Commitment

For the past 15 years, LandAid and Derwent London have worked hand-in-hand to combat youth homelessness. As a leading real estate investor, Derwent London’s commitment to tackling the growing issue of rough sleeping and youth homelessness is unwavering. The company’s support for LandAid has never been stronger, and we’re proud to announce their continued commitment as a Cornerstone Partner.

Why is supporting LandAid so important to them?

Based in central London, Derwent London sees first hand the rising levels of homelessness across the capital and recognises the urgent need for action. This reinforces their long-standing commitment to tackling youth homelessness in partnership with LandAid.

“Derwent London are determined to drive meaningful change alongside LandAid. Our partnership is built on a shared belief that every young person deserves a safe, secure place to call home, and we are proud to play a part in ending youth homelessness.”
Helen Joscelyne, Community and Social Value Manager, Derwent London

A partnership of tangible impact for young people

Since 2010, Derwent London’s staff and the Derwent London Community Fund have raised an incredible £213,230K for LandAid. Whether through fundraising events like the White Collar Factory rooftop half marathon or the annual LandAid SleepOut, their efforts have made a tangible difference in the lives of young people at risk of homelessness. This generous support could have provided 309 young people with an emergency place to sleep or 757 young people with the chance to break the cycle of homelessness through employability opportunities.

Cardinal Hume Centre’s Breaking the Cycle programme

One of the standout initiatives that Derwent London’s funding has contributed to is the Cardinal Hume Centre’s Breaking the Cycle programme. This Westminster-based project, which received a £30,000 grant last year, supports approximately 50 homeless young people annually. Beyond just providing shelter, the project offers wraparound services, including mental health support and employment training, helping young people gain the skills needed to transition to independent and sustainable futures.

A partnership for the future

After celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2024, Derwent London is strengthening its partnership with LandAid even further. By committing to be a Cornerstone Partner, Derwent London is helping LandAid work towards its goal of supporting 10,000 young people in need. This partnership marks a new chapter in our collective effort to address youth homelessness in the communities Derwent London operates.

Consider becoming a partner

At LandAid, we are always looking for new partners who share our vision of ending youth homelessness. If you’re inspired by Derwent London’s commitment, we invite you to consider supporting our work and becoming part of the movement to help young people break free from homelessness. Together, we can make a lasting difference.
