LandAid has launched two virtual fundraising events for summer of 2021.The LandAid 10K and Tour De LandAid will take place on Thursday 10 June and Saturday 26 June – Sunday 18 July respectively.
The LandAid 10K will once again be a virtual event, for property professionals to take part in across the country to raise vital funds for local youth homelessness charities. For the Tour De LandAid, teams of up to six will take on the daily distance of the Tour De France in a cycle that will truly make a difference to the lives of young people experiencing homelessness.
A huge thank you to silver sponsors CoStar, Dalbergia Group and Michael Sparks Associates for sponsoring the 24th LandAid 10K, and to yellow jersey sponsor Trident Building Consultancy for helping to make the Tour De LandAid possible.
Last year, more than 760 property professionals from across the UK took part in the LandAid QuaranTEN and shared one mission: to end youth homelessness. This event raised over £100,000 to help provide safe, secure and affordable accommodation for young people across the country.
The Tour De LandAid is a completely new event for LandAid’s partners and supporters. Taking inspiration from the Tour De France, this will be a taste of endurance and teamwork lasting for 23 days. All teams and participants will compete to win a variety of trophies including furthest distance and elevation.
Paul Morrish, LandAid Chief Executive: ‘LandAid has been so proud to be the property industry charity during this turbulent year – we have been astounded by the efforts of our supporters who have taken part in all of our virtual fundraising events over the past year. With the launch of the LandAid 10K and the Tour De LandAid, we will continue to raise funds to go towards projects and charities focusing on solutions toyouth homelessness.
Today we ask the industry to stand (or walk, run or cycle) with us in the LandAid 10K and Tour De LandAid to achieve our goal to end youth homelessness. Whether you are competitive, want to try something new or just want to get out and about, this is your opportunity. Youth homelessness continues to be an issue that 121,000 young people face in the UK, and we need your help more than ever.’
Matthew Green, European Managing Director, CoStar: ‘CoStar is proud to support LandAid in their mission to end youth homelessness, and we’re delighted to get involved with this year’s 10K event. Last year we were so impressed by the efforts of everyone who took part, and we’re looking forward to another fantastic, safe and socially distanced edition in 2021. Good luck from CoStar to everyone getting involved and thank you for your contributions to this worthy cause.’
David Boyes, Director, Dalbergia Group: ‘Dalbergia are proud to support LandAid throughout 2021 – it’s a great cause and no young person should be faced with the insecurity and dangers which come with homelessness. we are sponsoring the 10k as it creates an opportunity for our team to come together and engage with the LandAid community as well as providing a platform for our staff to get outside to run, walk or crawl the 10k together. We’ve not been able to do much together over the past year so (in line with government guidelines!) we are very much looking forward to being a part of the event.’ Trevor Dowd, Executive Director, Trident BC: ‘We are delighted to be sponsoring Tour de LandAid, a fantastic way to bring the property industry together as well as to help end youth homelessness throughout the UK. We are confident that it will raise awareness of this issue, not to mention tap into the competitive nature of our colleagues in the property sector. ‘
