On Friday 18 September, participants will lace up their hiking boots for the LandAid Trek 2026, taking on the iconic South Downs Way to support young people facing homelessness. Join the London Property Alliance team and more in this iconic challenge.
You completed the LandAid Trek last year and are returning this year with a larger team. What made you decide to come back? What moment from last year’s Trek has stayed with you the most?
It was a brilliant way to connect with existing contacts as well as meet new ones, while doing something positive and enjoyable. I wanted my team to experience it and do their bit to help make a difference.
The Trek is often described as a challenge, but it’s also a unique opportunity to connect with people across the property industry. What stood out to you about the people you met along the way?
The camaraderie and positive atmosphere.
If you could give one piece of advice to someone signing up for their first Trek, what would it be?
Do a couple of smaller walks prior to ensure your shoes fit and your kit feels comfortable. You don’t need lots of gear, just some sensible boots and appropriate layers and a raincoat, as September can be particularly unpredictable.
What did you learn during the challenge that you weren’t expecting?
A cup of hot tea midway through a hike is heaven.
The property industry has a unique role to play in ending youth homelessness. Why do you think initiatives like the LandAid Trek are important?
They help galvanise the sector around a critically important mission and bring to life the impact of our fundraising and support.
In three words, how would you describe the LandAid Trek experience?
Enjoyable, meaningful and impactful.
What are you most looking forward to when you set off again this year?
Sharing the hike with my team and seeing old and new faces from across the sector.
