I initially entered the property industry with an interest in town planning and regeneration, stemming from work experience when I was 15. I completed internships in my home city of Edinburgh in the council regeneration team. I then took a leap of faith into surveying during my sandwich year placement, joining a residential valuation team in Leeds and that is when I found my passion for valuation (my love for numbers is a bit nerdy). My interest in property and numbers paid off when I was promoted to Partner at Knight Frank last year, at the age of 28.
Our team cover all things residential, including valuing new build housing schemes from regional and national housebuilders, to 40-storey city centre apartment blocks, as well as existing portfolios of tenanted properties. I have a real interest in student housing; I find the demographic, and micro supply and demand location analytics exciting!
I have been involved with LandAid as an Ambassador for over 6 years and was delighted to be invited to join the Yorkshire Board. I am grateful to have been able to support LandAid’s mission to end youth homelessness, a cause I am passionate about.
A highlight for me during my Ambassador role was a visit to London to see the charities and shelters LandAid support. Seeing the impact in real life was challenging, yet this is the reality many young people face daily. This inspired me to continue supporting LandAid as much as possible.
As a recently appointed board member I am keen to encourage communication and united collaboration between the Ambassadors and the Board on all fronts including events, profile raising, and partnerships, etc. I am also keen to support on established events and explore new opportunities to add to the property calendar.
