LandAid receives support from Eversheds Sutherland

Partnership continues to tackle the rising challenge of youth homelessness.

LandAid extends partnership with Eversheds Sutherland with support for the next three years to support youth homelessness projects across the UK.

LandAid is the property industry charity working to end youth homelessness in the UK.

Across the country, youth homelessness is rising at a shocking rate. Last year alone nearly 136,000 16–24-year-olds found themselves facing homelessness. Many are forced to sleep in overcrowded hostels, on the sofas of people they barely know, or worse still, on the streets. With rising rents and reductions in benefit payments disproportionately affecting those most vulnerable, support has never been needed more.

Yet homelessness isn’t inevitable. It’s a problem that can be solved by providing the right support services and safe accommodation.

By bringing together the property and wider built environment industry in a collective mission, each year, LandAid support hundreds of youth homelessness charities across the UK. They do this by giving out grants and matching skilled property professionals and partners with charities in need of pro bono advice, saving them vital funds.

Eversheds Sutherland are a committed LandAid partner

In 2021, Eversheds Sutherland committed to joining LandAid as a Partner with an annual donation of £10,000. These donations supported the ‘Live and Work’ youth village with St Basils – creating 52 move-on studios in disused nurses’ accommodation within the NHS Sandwell Trust. The scheme provides affordable accommodation, wraparound support, training and employment opportunities for young people, creating a sustainable route out of homelessness.

To date, Eversheds Sutherland and colleagues have raised over £87,500 to create routes out of homelessness for young people in the UK. The commitment over the next three years will ensure that the organisation hits the £100,000 milestone in our mission to end youth homelessness.

Vital partnerships with businesses like Eversheds Sutherland show how determined the industry is to commit to ESG responsibilities and tackle some of the most pressing social issues of today.

This brilliant support will take LandAid one step closer to ending youth homelessness.
