LandAid’s Pro Bono Programme provides over £2 million worth of support to young peoples charities

As our 2021 – 2024 strategy comes to a close, we take a look at the impact our Pro Bono Programme has made. We have worked with hundreds of property professionals to provide free property expertise to youth homelessness projects across the UK.

Since the beginning of our strategy in 2021, the generosity of the property industry has enabled LandAid to broker incredible property expertise to youth homelessness projects across the UK completely free.

Since 2021...

  • £ 2,165,348

    of pro bono support provided.

  • 6,264

    hours of free support provided.

  • 299

    projects supported nationwide.

  • 138

    charities supported.

122 of our corporate partners have worked hard to provide crucial support to over 138 charities across 299 projects nationwide.

When we work together, the property industry can do incredible things. The support provided ranged from repair works to structural advice, all of which has enabled the charities to enhance their provision of support for those most vulnerable across the UK.

Thanks to our amazing partners we have made an incredible social impact nationwide. You can read more about all the projects we have supported here or keep reading to learn about one of our key successes.

Pro Bono Success Story: Impact Hub, London

LandAid’s Pro Bono Programme has facilitated support for ‘Impact Hub’ from international law firm, CMS, for over three years. Together, they embarked on an ambitious project to open a new incubation hub for social entrepreneurs as part of the exciting new development at Regent’s Place.

During that time, 344 hours of support and services have been provided valued at very significant £151,798.

The Impact Hub is a not-for-profit organisation with a mission to accelerate entrepreneurial action that benefits people and planet. They have helped hundreds of social enterprises by providing an incubation hub which offers a flexible workplace community for its members.

In 2023 due to expansion, they successfully secured a new space within a British Land building and required a tenant surveyor to help them comply with regulations, and to assure the landlord that the fit-out of their space was being done in their best interests and to the highest standard.

Due to the high costs associated with the nature of these services, they turned to the LandAid Pro Bono Programme for support and we were able to match them with CMS. Together, we have successfully provided legal support in the widest real estate sense, including governance considerations along with lease terms and negotiation for the relocation. Plus, some commercial patent advice.

“CMS have provided a huge amount of support to help us get our affordable workspace for social enterprises and community members in Camden up and running. Initially working on the lease, they have also supported with many other linked agreements. For example, our terms and conditions needed modifying, so they stepped in. Those mentioned our GDPR policy, so they helped with that. Each time a legal question arises, they identify another team member who can provide the relevant expertise. Not only that but they have been a joy to work with - dealing with our queries quickly and expertly. We feel like an important client, not a pro bono afterthought. I'm genuinely blown away by the quality and generosity of their support, which I am told is worth over £150k!”
