Meet the LandAid team
As part of our Meet the Team series, we’re shining a light on the people behind LandAid’s mission to end youth homelessness.
This month, we spoke to Tim Hudson, who’s been at LandAid for over 3 years. Tim is the acting Deputy CEO and Director of Communications, therefore he leads the Communications team and plays a role on the organisations overall strategy.
I have worked in the non-profit sector for almost 14 years, at large organisations such as Cancer Research UK, to smaller charity start-ups. I’m passionate about using my skills to create social impact and for the benefit of those who need the greatest support. I value the unique position which LandAid has – focusing on bringing one industry together behind a shared mission to end youth homelessness. The opportunity to work across private organisations, charity partners, and policy-makers to achieve this mission makes the role incredibly rewarding.
I lead the Communications Team, developing and delivering on a Communications Strategy that aims to reach, educate & engage, and inspire professionals and organisations across the industry in support of our mission. We look after all of LandAid’s external communications, and ensure that everyone else in the organisation has all the tools, resources and support they need to be able to deliver a consistent message to current and potential supporters.
As a member of the Leadership Team, I also play a part in shaping how LandAid delivers on its overall strategy, with a personal focus on the wellbeing of the whole team, and supporting them with tools and support to enable greater efficiency in everything they do.
Being part of the annual SleepOut; hundreds of property professionals coming together across multiple cities in the UK, alongside the whole LandAid Team, together with guests from our valued charity partners, creates a sense of unity and collaboration. It’s when all of our work comes together on one night of the year, and the support LandAid receives and the impact we make becomes to tangible.
LandAid receives a huge amount of support from across the industry, with individual and organisational commitment to our cause. However, this support isn’t a given, it takes a lot of hard work by the whole LandAid team to ensure that our supporters understand the impact they can make, have the opportunities to put their support in to practice and, in turn, to transform that support in to impact. But all of this takes investment and fundraising to make possible in the first place. The industry has so much more potential for how it can create social impact through our work, but it takes a lot of work to make that happen.

Young people face unique challenges that put them at risk of homelessness, and their pathways out of homelessness differ from those of other groups. Too often, young people are overlooked and left without the tailored support they urgently need. We can tackle this inequality and work with our charity partners to increase that specific support which young people need; we need the property industry to get behind us to make this happen.
