We’ve come a long way in 30 years. Back in 1986, whilst England’s footballers were being knocked out of the world cup by Maradona’s hand of God, and the M25 was being completed, a group of surveyors came up with an idea.
Inspired by Bob Geldof’s Live Aid the year before, they decided to form a charity called LandAid. Their aim? To bring together the property industry to give something back.
Three decades later, and LandAid is a real force for good. With a new mission to end youth homelessness, and 110 corporate partners backing our cause, the future is looking bright for the property industry’s charity.
However, there is so much more to do.
Homelessness in the UK is surging. More than 100,000 of our young people do not have a place to call home. We think this is a national disgrace.
Thankfully, charities across the UK are delivering life-changing services to young people who are homeless, or are at severe risk of becoming so.
By bringing the property industry together, we can support these organisations with funds and free expertise, helping them to reach more young people.
So, whether you run our 10K, cycle 100 miles, climb 24 peaks in 24 hours or get sponsored to wear something wacky for LandAid Day, your support will make a vital difference.
