Why Avison Young support LandAid

Why Avison Young support LandAid

Avison Young believe real estate has the power to shape better futures for people and their communities. This drives their commitment to social value, sustainability, and inclusion in everything they do.

They see the growing challenge of youth homelessness across the UK and know that safe, secure housing is the foundation for giving young people the opportunity to break the cycle. That’s why we are proud to have them support us in our mission.

A partnership of impact

Together, we have built a meaningful partnership rooted in action and purpose, supporting some of our key programmes.

  • LandAid’s Grant funding

Last year, Avison Young contributed funding to the several projects within our Routes out of Homelessness Grant’s programme. Within this project umbrella, Avison Young supported seven different charities, delivering a mix of capital, move-on, and safe places projects. Collectively, this work has contributed to improving the lives of over 150 young people, offering not just shelter, but stability, confidence, and a foundation for the future.

Some of these included:

  1. Aberdeen Foyer, providing emergency housing and long-term support, including access to supported accommodation and personal development coaching.
  2. Northampton YMCA, providing move-on spaces for young care leavers, helping to support them through the transition from the care system to independent living.
  3. LATCH (Leeds Action To Create Homes), helping the refurbishment of derelict and run-down houses within the city to provide supported housing for young people.

These projects have changed the lives of young people, like Sade

  • LandAid’s Employability Programme

This year, Avison Young are backing our Employability Programme, an initiative helping young people facing homelessness to build the skills, resilience, and connections needed to access meaningful employment. Through funding and collaboration, we’re supporting the development of innovative

training resources and toolkits that empower both businesses and young people, as well as supporting projects that are directly helping young people to access employment or training opportunities, through Employability Grants.

These initiatives will support their broader ESG strategy by creating pathways to housing, skills, and employment, and reinforcing our commitment to building inclusive, resilient communities.

Together, we’re building a future where no young person is left without a place to call home, and we’re just getting started.

“Avison Young are proud supporters of LandAid and the work they do to tackle youth homelessness and create lasting change.

I recently had the privilege of visiting a project we have supported through our partnership and it really brought home the significance of what LandAid do. Hearing and seeing for myself the difference that LandAid projects make to the lives of young people was really powerful. By joining forces, we are pleased to be helping build more inclusive, resilient places where young people have the chance to thrive.”

I've personally really enjoyed volunteering at some of LandAid's key fundraising events this year - the London SleepOut and Race for LandAid. These events bring people together from across the industry to have a bit of fun, but most importantly to raise awareness and vital funds to support LandAid's work.

Employee engagement

At Avison Young, fundraising isn’t just an activity, it’s in their business’s culture.

Whether braving the cold at the LandAid SleepOut or lacing up for the Race for LandAid, their teams come together to support young people and raise awareness of the housing crisis.

“Taking part in the LandAid SleepOut was a humbling and eye-opening experience. Spending a night exposed to the elements gave me a small glimpse into the reality faced by thousands of young people across the UK who don’t have a safe place to call home. It was powerful to come together with colleagues and others from across the property industry to raise awareness and funds for such a vital cause. I’m proud to have been part of an event that not only challenges us personally but also makes a real difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.”

“Our partnership with LandAid reflects Avison Young’s long-term commitment to creating social impact through the built environment. In 2025, we’re proud to be supporting LandAid’s Employability Programme, a bold initiative helping young people build the skills and confidence needed to access meaningful employment. As the programme evolves, we’re looking forward to working alongside LandAid and the other founding partners, to help shape its future, contributing to resources that empower both young people and the businesses that support them. This isn’t just about corporate responsibility, it’s about driving real change for young people facing homelessness across the UK.”

I was proud to have run the 10k for LandAid in the summer heat, as part of the AY team! It was a fantastic experience that brought together the property industry with great energy, team spirit and in support of an excellent cause.
