30 property professionals raced to summit 24 mountains in 24 hours last weekend, raising £8,000 for LandAid.
The inaugural LandAid 24 Peak Challenge saw budding adventurers from 14 businesses climb some of the Lake District’s highest peaks and walk a total distance of 51km.
The days were long and the ascents steep but 13 of the 30 participants conquered all 24 peaks in the allotted time. Others came close: two thirds of the group reached over 20 summits whilst several completed England’s highest peak Scafell Pike before eventually surrendering to injury.
Two walkers went the extra mile to boost their fundraising totals РAlex Harrington-Griffin of Coeur de Lion carried a Piñata for the duration of the trek whilst Richard Trubshaw of Paragon lugged 24kg of sand up and down the peaks.
Businesses involved included Argent, Coeur de Lion, CoStar, Grainger, JLL, Knight Frank, LaSalle Investment Management, Levy Real Estate, Pinsent Masons, Redefine International, Sellar Developments, Solution Recruitment, Tower Eight and Turley.
Robyn Phillips, Corporate Partnership Manager at LandAid, said: ‘Whether they raced through all 24 peaks in less than 24 hours, took the steady and scenic route or were finally defeated by injury, we are so proud of all those who took part. Despite tired legs and 4am starts, the effort was tremendous. Together they’ve raised a fantastic £8,000 to help us end youth homelessness in the UK.’
