Thursday was another brilliant LandAid Day - and I hope, my first of many here at LandAid. The rest of the team and I spent the day running around the UK getting involved with what you were all up to. But more importantly, we hope, saying a big thank you for all of your amazing efforts. It was fantastic to see so many people getting creative for us!
In the early hours of Thursday 7 September, 27 Colliers graduates from across the UK gathered at Gatwick airport to make haste for Geneva. The much-anticipated Colliers 'Tour de Mont Blanc' had begun in earnest, after many months of fundraising and preparation. Here's what happened, in their own words:
Yesterday we launched our first LandAid Midlands 10K, sponsored by St. Modwen, and what a success it was! We called for runners- and you all delivered! Over 200 runners from across the property industry braved the wind, put on their running shoes, and came together to raise vital funds to help end youth homelessness in the Midlands.
At six foot eight inches tall and weighing over 100kg I am not really built to be on a bike let alone cycle 100 miles on one. I have always wanted to do the RideLondon 100 and missed out on the ballot in previous years. So when the opportunity arose to participate in the event with LandAid I jumped at the opportunity and signed up.

Last Friday saw the return of the Carter Jonas Yorkshire Pedalthon in support of LandAid. As it entered its fourth year it promised to be bigger and better than ever and wow did it deliver!
LandAid is launching its first ever 10K race to tackle youth homelessness in the Midlands. The property industry charity is calling on runners of all abilities to challenge one another, push for a personal best or make their running debut in the inaugural LandAid Midlands 10K.
From marathon runners to causal joggers, anyone can take on the LandAid 10K challenge and succeed! Michael Wright, Senior Building Surveyor at Watts Group, and Emily Locke, Marketing Executive at Native Land, both claimed trophies in property's biggest 10K last year.
It started with a mischievous suggestion from a friend. Justin Brand and his wife, Jo Allen (of Frogmore), were planning for Jo's 50th birthday with friends when one of them suggested that to mark the occasion, she could aim to take on the London Marathon. 'You git,' Justin remembers thinking, knowing that Jo never backs away from a challenge and he'd be dragged into training as well.
