What do they need help with?
Articulate Cultural Trust works with care-experienced children and young people, supporting them through creativity and the arts. In response to research and rising need, the charity is embarking on a bold ten-year vision to create trauma-informed places and spaces (TIPS) — accessible arts facilities that also provide safe, residential support — in key locations across Scotland.
The long-term goal is to develop creative hubs in cities with the highest populations of care-experienced young people, as well as rural and island communities. These hubs will act as safe and creative spaces, promoting wellbeing, employability and connection. To support the planning and realisation of this vision, Articulate is now seeking pro bono support to explore two key development routes:
- Finding and refurbishing existing properties to create trauma-informed hubs.
- Building new, bespoke facilities from scratch.
INCH Architecture + Design has already provided the charity with a wide range of innovative and exciting design options (Available on request)
Therefore an exploratory call would be a helpful first step to understand the scope of work and identify the best pathway forward.

About the organisation
Founded in 2017, Articulate Cultural Trust is a Scottish charity using the arts to transform the lives of children and young people with care experience. By removing barriers to creativity and cultural access, Articulate provides a platform for expression, education, and wellbeing. Its programmes are designed for young people who are in or have left care, and those who are homeless, seeking asylum, or living in poverty.
Articulate co-designs its services with children and young people, and delivers inclusive projects across all artforms. With a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, the charity helps young people improve wellbeing, gain new skills, and access pathways into further education and employment. Its goal is to ensure every young person, regardless of background, can enjoy a creative, fulfilling childhood.
