What do they need help with?

The Avon Centre, a charity providing equestrian and nature-based therapy on the outskirts of Bristol, is undertaking a project to improve accessibility across its facilities. Thanks to a council grant, part of the work is funded, but the charity needs additional pro bono help to cover critical surveys and consultations. These include M&E and energy consultancy, cost consultancy, structural consultancy, a building regulation approver, a measured building survey, underground drainage survey, and investigations into the existing structure. These services are crucial to ensure the upgrades meet high standards and provide a welcoming, inclusive space for disabled and disadvantaged individuals. The charity aims to progress this work by March 2025.

About the organisation

The Avon Centre is a Bristol-based charity that has, for over 40 years, provided a safe and supportive space where disabled and disadvantaged people can experience the healing power of horses and nature. Originally established as a Riding for the Disabled Association centre, it has evolved to offer unmounted therapeutic pony sessions and works closely with disadvantaged communities. Its mission is to make the mental and physical health benefits of nature and equestrian therapy accessible to all, helping to foster well-being, confidence, and a sense of belonging.
