What do they need help with?

Donnington Partnership CIO operates a thriving community hub and café in Donnington, Telford – an area ranked in the top 10% most deprived wards in the UK. The hub provides low-cost food, free or affordable room hire for local support services, a community fridge, warm hubs (when grant funded), a meals-on-wheels service, and a full programme of events and activities for children, young people, and older residents.

To meet growing local demand, the charity is planning an extension to the current community hub building. They are currently in the early stages of this process and are seeking architectural and engineering expertise to help shape the design, develop drawings suitable for planning permission, and offer advice on how to deliver the project in a cost-effective way.

Professional pro bono support would make a huge difference, enabling the charity to begin planning the extension while keeping costs manageable. The new space will allow them to increase capacity, host more community groups and activities, and better support the wellbeing of residents across North Telford.

About the organisation

Donnington Partnership CIO is a community-focused charity working to support residents in Donnington, Telford – one of the most deprived areas in the UK. From its vibrant community hub, the charity runs a café, a meals-on-wheels service, and warm hubs, alongside community events, activities for children and young people during school holidays, and volunteer-led initiatives including a running group and a youth club. The hub is also home to other organisations who use the space to deliver local support, with rooms offered at low cost or for free where possible. Their work plays a vital role in tackling isolation, supporting wellbeing, and providing accessible services for vulnerable people in the area.
