What do they need help with?

Hope Into Action UK is requesting legal expertise to review two key documents: a headlease and sublease template. These are vital tools for the charity’s innovative housing model, where properties are leased and then subleased to trusted franchise partners – many of which are local churches – who provide supported accommodation to people experiencing homelessness.

The templates are already drafted and in use, but a comprehensive legal review is now needed to ensure they are fully compliant, clear, and suitable for use across the organisation’s expanding national network. The legal support will directly contribute to the charity’s ability to grow its reach and offer housing to more individuals facing homelessness.

This work will help to formalise and streamline the relationship between Hope Into Action UK and its franchisees, allowing them to manage over 130 properties with greater legal clarity and consistency. There is no immediate urgency, but support is requested ideally before 24 October 2025 to align with the next phase of their strategy.

About the organisation

Hope Into Action UK is a Christian charity that works in partnership with local churches to provide temporary accommodation and tailored support for people who are homeless or vulnerably housed. Their approach focuses on the whole person – not just providing a roof over someone’s head, but helping them address complex needs, overcome personal challenges, and move towards stable, independent living.

The organisation has operational bases in Peterborough, Nottingham, Norwich and Cambridge, and oversees a national network of franchise partners in more than 20 towns and cities across the UK. With over 130 homes in their network, properties are typically owned and refurbished by individual investors committed to their mission.

Hope Into Action empowers residents to break the cycle of homelessness, reduce reoffending, tackle addiction, rebuild family relationships, and work towards goals like employment or financial independence. Their model has demonstrated lasting impact in reducing homelessness and helping people transition to more secure futures.
