What do they need help with?

Founded in 2009 and registered as a charity in 2011, Global Vision Initiative (GVI) has become a trusted support hub for Manchester’s BAME communities. Operating entirely through volunteer effort—with six trustees, three management members and ten volunteers—GVI has made a major impact by tackling unemployment, social exclusion, racism, and youth disconnection.

Through a wide portfolio of projects, GVI has created over 250 volunteering roles, supported individuals into permanent employment, and helped many others start their own businesses. Initiatives such as the Job Café Project, Digital Entrepreneurship Project, and Women Empowerment Seminars have become local lifelines, especially for young people and women. Their impact extends further through campaigns promoting inclusion (Kick It Out, Reclaim the Streets), post-COVID community recovery (icare Project), and tackling the digital divide.

With all this work currently delivered without a dedicated premises, the organisation is now considering options for a community base that reflects their ambition and meets the increasing demand for their services. GVI is seeking pro bono property advice to explore what might be possible—whether that’s assessing existing spaces, identifying future premises, or simply gaining insight into what’s involved in leasing or managing property.

They welcome a conversation with property professionals who can guide them through this next stage—translating their vision into practical, place-based outcomes that further support Manchester’s marginalised communities.

About the organisation

Global Vision Initiative is a community-led charity serving Manchester’s BAME communities through innovative and inclusive programmes. From addressing youth unemployment to tackling racism, digital exclusion, and gender inequality, GVI is driven by a mission to empower marginalised voices and create long-lasting change.

Run entirely by volunteers, the organisation has delivered a wide range of initiatives including business incubation for young people, skills development for women, and active citizenship campaigns. Their approach is rooted in collaboration, with a strong track record of engaging partners across sectors—from tech start-ups to public bodies. GVI is led by a skilled team, including a chairperson recognised as a Champion for International Youth Work by the British Council.

At its heart, GVI is about unlocking potential, promoting inclusion, and creating a stronger, fairer society—one person, one project at a time.
