What do they need help with?
The Baca Charity, based in the East Midlands and East of England, provides safe, holistic support to unaccompanied young people who have fled their home countries. The organisation is currently leasing a community centre from the local parish in Loughborough and is looking to purchase the site in order to secure and potentially redevelop it as a long-term base.
Baca believes the site holds untapped potential. Their vision is to transform it into a multifunctional space that:
- Directly supports their core services for young people;
- Provides income-generating opportunities to help sustain the charity; and
- Offers wider benefit to the local community.
They are seeking pro bono support for an initial consultation to help define the development potential of the site and any constraints involved. Specifically, they would like support to:
- Scope out different possible uses and configurations of the site;
- Understand what planning or structural constraints might exist;
- Define the phased stages of development or renovation;
- Clarify what professional services might be required and when.
This early-stage support will help The Baca Charity build a clear and informed case for investment, while ensuring the future of their work is rooted in a space that is fit for purpose and community-driven. The support is needed ahead of September 2026.

About the organisation
The Baca Charity was founded by a group of local residents responding to the needs of vulnerable young people who had fled war and persecution and arrived in the UK unaccompanied and unsupported. Today, Baca provides a holistic, therapeutic model of care to 51 young people across the East Midlands and East of England.
Their work includes providing safe accommodation, wellbeing and therapeutic support, life skills coaching, education, and community integration. All of this is designed to help young people rebuild their lives and move confidently into adulthood. In the past year alone, Baca has seen 80% of young people improve their physical wellbeing, 91% improve their emotional wellbeing, and 85% increase their engagement with education, employment or training.
Rooted in compassion, driven by expertise, and focused on long-term outcomes, Baca offers young people a real chance to heal, grow, and thrive.
