What do they need help with?
Nadiya has secured a major donation of £4.1 million worth of brand-new furniture through its Homestart Initiative. This programme provides essential household items — including beds, sofas, tables, chairs and appliances — to refugee families and other vulnerable households at no cost. Nadiya retains ownership of the items, allowing them to be collected, reused and redistributed when no longer needed, creating a circular and sustainable model.
The initiative has already demonstrated strong impact. Through the MA250 Pilot, Nadiya distributed £198,658 worth of furniture, successfully furnishing homes for 250 families. The organisation is now preparing to scale significantly, with a target to support 1,000 additional families across England in 2026, including Ukrainian, Afghan and other refugee households, as well as vulnerable British families at risk of homelessness.
To achieve this, Nadiya requires access to warehouse or light industrial space. The charity is seeking between 35,000 and 80,000 sq ft. A smaller space would support immediate operational needs, while a larger site would enable full deployment of existing stock and accommodate further large-scale donations currently under discussion.
Preferred locations include Milton Keynes, Luton, Northampton, Bedford, Leicester and London, reflecting the geographic spread of beneficiaries. However, the organisation is open to opportunities anywhere in England and can adapt its logistics model accordingly.
Nadiya already has a robust operational framework in place. This includes a structured referral and assessment process, formalised furniture loan agreements, and partnerships with specialist logistics providers responsible for delivery, installation and collection. The key constraint is physical storage and distribution capacity.
Securing suitable space will unlock the full potential of existing donations and enable Nadiya to expand its reach. It will also support a scalable, circular solution to furnishing homes, directly contributing to homelessness prevention for some of the most vulnerable young people and families in England.

About the organisation
Nadiya is a UK-registered charity (No. 1200609), founded in October 2022 in response to the Ukraine refugee crisis. It has since grown into a leading end-to-end refugee resettlement organisation, supporting over 2,400 beneficiaries across the UK.
Its flagship Long-term Housing Programme removes barriers to accessing the private rented sector by providing interest- and fee-free loans for deposits and upfront rent, acting as a guarantor, and furnishing homes through its Homestart Initiative. The programme operates a recycling loan model, reinvesting repayments to support future families. Its MA250 Pilot achieved a 100% application success rate, a 0.98% default rate, and prevented any participating family from becoming homeless.
Nadiya also delivers services across the resettlement journey, including visa and sponsorship support, short-term accommodation, and integration programmes. These services have supported hundreds of individuals, with 98% of participants reporting improved wellbeing.
The need for this work is urgent. Thousands of refugee households face homelessness across England, driven by limited access to housing and declining host availability. Nadiya’s model offers a cost-effective and scalable solution, with an average cost of £1,510 per family — significantly lower than emergency accommodation.
