What do they need help with?
Global Vision Initiative is looking for pro bono property search, agency and valuation support to help it secure suitable premises in Manchester.
The charity is at an early stage and has not yet established the size, measurements or detailed specifications of the property it needs. Support from a property professional would help it develop a clear brief, identify appropriate opportunities and understand the practical and financial implications of purchasing a building.
The organisation would particularly benefit from support with:
- defining the type, size and location of property required;
- searching for suitable premises in Manchester;
- assessing the suitability and market value of potential properties;
- understanding likely acquisition, refurbishment and running costs; and
- exploring funding and financial options for the purchase.
The property would form part of Global Vision Initiative’s wider social enterprise strategy. The charity plans to use it to provide vocational training in ICT, cookery and entrepreneurship for people aged 18 and over who are experiencing homelessness. This would be supported by practical help covering housing, financial management and wellbeing.
By creating pathways into training and sustainable employment, the project aims to help people build skills, confidence and greater independence.
