Due to COVID-19, young people were no longer able to have one-to-one sessions, drop-in sessions, or social group activities. A few young people the charity supports had either been furloughed or made redundant. Many were suffering already due to limited family contact, resulting in are suffering from social isolation and loneliness.
LandAid’s £6,875 grant supported young people at Barnardo’s 16+ service. This grant provided food vouchers for 8 weeks, tablet and data packages, face to face sessions with a trusted Key Worker and access to Universal Credit and Housing Benefit systems.
LandAid also gave a further grant of £3,125 to help cover the cost of relief funds for 77 households for young people. This included money for utility bills, food, and new clothing.
