LandAid’s £75,000 grant helped renovate four empty Victorian two-bed terraced houses, creating eight bed spaces in shared houses for young people with floating support.
Each young person moving in was involved in finishing the refurbishment, such as painting and decorating, choosing colours and fittings. This helps to build a sense of ownership, creating responsible and committed tenants. The skills the young people learn will help them towards employment and break the cycle of homelessness.
