Fair Shot Café is a social enterprise and registered UK charity that aims to transform lives through specialty coffee. Their vision is to create a society where adults with learning disabilities and/or autism have an equal and fair chance at obtaining and maintaining employment.
95% of adults in the UK with learning disabilities are unemployed. Fair Shot wants to change that. Through their year-long traineeship programme, they are growing the next generation of skilled baristas and expert café assistants. After the programme, they find their graduates paid employment with forward-thinking employers and keep supporting all parties involved for the following 6 months.
Fair Shot were looking to expand and reached out to LandAid for help with securing legal advice on the letting of new retail premises in central London.
Osborne Clarke generously answered their call, saving the charity in the region of £10,000 through pro bono support.
This is yet another brilliant example from the LandAid Pro Bono Programme of cross-sector working between property and charity, to achieve the greatest possible impact!
