Some of the tenants will be young ex-offenders who would otherwise be homeless following their release. The project will give them the chance to help out with the building work and gain valuable experience in construction.
Mayer Brown have provided pro bono legal advice through LandAid to Giroscope to assist them with setting up the correct legal documentation required for tenants of emergency and short term accommodation.
The impact
This project will help vulnerable young people at risk of being homeless get their lives back on track. They will be provided with a Youth Training Manager who, as well as helping them gain experience in construction, will work with them to develop a personal learning plan with further work opportunities, college courses or apprenticeships in mind.
