Savills provides HR advice to the Deptford Ragged Trust

Through the LandAid Pro Bono Programme, The Deptford Ragged Trust, a community charity trust, has secured expert HR support for a number of their employee contracts.

The LandAid Pro Bono Programme has facilitated a partnership between the Deptford Ragged Trust and Savills, delivering specialised HR support for the Trust’s casual workforce. Through this collaboration, the Deptford Ragged Trust received expert HR guidance, enabling them to formalise employee contracts and introduce enhanced benefits for staff.

As a charitable organisation, the Deptford Ragged Trust is dedicated to strengthening community resources in the Lewisham area, particularly by offering English language courses to individuals for whom English is a second language. Thanks to this partnership, staff members who have been providing these essential classes for over two years now have structured employment contracts, supporting both the stability of the program and the professional growth of its employees.

We are incredibly grateful for the pro-bono support we received. Within just a couple of weeks after our request, we were matched with a Divisional HR Director at Savills who was proactive in scheduling a meeting to discuss advice on casual worker contracts and sabbaticals/loyalty leave schemes. They provided expert guidance on UK employment law, tailoring it to our specific context, and followed up with further written information.
