21% of St Basils’ young people were in self-isolation, and St Basils experiencied significant challenges in providing essential items. St Basils anticipated further poor access to essential items and increased financial disadvantage to continue well after these restrictions were lifted. It was also concerned with due to the higher instances of domestic violence and family unease reported, that the number of homeless young people may rise.

LandAid’s £10,000 grant provided essential items for their young people. Many of its young people also reported that they did not have mobile phones, so keeping in contact has proved difficult. Therefore, these funds also purchased basic mobile phones, as well as starter packs including basic kitchen items so that their young people can be self-sufficient and cook for themselves.
