LandAid’s £60,000 grant will enable them to create five one-bed modular housing units from refitted shipping containers for young people who are moving on from supported housing. They are ready for work and independent living, but unable to afford private rented accommodation.
The project is inspired by the Startblok scheme in Amsterdam that houses students alongside young refugees. The young people will be housed alongside Bristol University students and supported to develop and use their shared skills to self-manage the scheme together.
