One of the only plus points of summer drawing to an end is the fact that Oktoberfest season is now upon us. And if you wanted a more property-oriented take on the traditional beer festival, you need look no further than Proptoberfest. The event is the brainchild of Completely Events and is in support of LandAid, featuring Bavarian beer, lots of lederhosen and a positive, party atmosphere. Since joining LandAid earlier this month, I'd been looking forward to my first visit to a project we're helping to fund. I couldn't wait to see the concrete impact LandAid's grants were having on young people's lives. I'm not sure I could have attended a better first visit than XLP in Greenwich.

Well, the beauty of transactional giving is that it can be adapted to suit your business model. But simply put, it means that each time your company makes a particular business transaction, it also makes an agreed donation to LandAid.

I was lucky enough to have one - a conventional' path through a good school, two parents who encouraged me in my chosen degree and a solid network of friends and family that ensured I sailed comfortably through the rocky waters of their divorce.
