Work has begun to develop the next phase of homelessness charity, St Basils’ innovative live and work project in Sandwell, with the refurbishment of former doctors and nurses residences to create an aspirational young workers’ ‘village’.
LandAid's Grants and Impact Committee met in September to offer feedback on our growing Pro Bono Programme and approve £423,375 worth of grants to charities across the UK. The grants will fund four key projects for DePaul UK/Nightstop, The Foyer Foundation, End Youth Homelessness, YMCA Together.
Phil Kerry is the CEO of New Horizon Youth Centre (NHYC), a leading youth homelessness charity. Under his leadership, NHYC has transformed from a holistic service provider to young Londoners experiencing homelessness to an organisation with national change impact. Launched in July 2022, LandAid’s Ukraine Small Grants Scheme has delivered £77,000 worth of support for families fleeing the war in Ukraine.
Last year, over 60 property industry organisations stepped forward to offer their time and skills to 92 different charities through LandAid’s Pro Bono programme, resulting in over £700,000 worth of professional support for disadvantaged young people and families throughout the UK.
The LandAid COVID-19 Emergency Fund, launched on 7 April 2020, has given out its first grants to frontline charities. LandAid, the property industry charity, distributed over £100,000 to 12 charities in this first round of funding.
Despite all that is going on, last week ended on a high for me as we gave out our first round in emergency funding to charities across the UK. Thanks to the support of the industry, our campaign partners and all of you who have taken on ridiculous challenges for us in the past few weeks, we were able to give out over £100,000 in our first round of funding.
