About the Organisation

www.creativeyouthnetwork.org.uk

Creative Youth Network traces its origins back to 1748 in Kingswood, where a school was established for local colliers’ children on what is now the Kingswood Estate. Creative Youth Network operates across Bristol and South Gloucestershire, working in some of the most deprived communities to reach and support young people who need it most. Most of its services are delivered from their Kingswood Estates site, as well as through their newly built hub, called The Courts.

The organization exists to help young people, regardless of their barriers or circumstances, to reach their full potential. In 2024, Creative Youth Network worked with 2,191 young people, with approximately 75% coming from extremely vulnerable backgrounds.

The charity supports young people in achieving key outcomes identified by the Young Foundation as essential for long-term success. These include improved self-confidence, better physical and mental health, skill development, and fostering positive relationships. In the first three quarters of 2024, a total of 2,737 positive outcomes were recorded across 125,481 session attendances.

Creative Youth Network’s commitment to high-quality youth work was recently recognized by the National Youth Agency (NYA), making it the first organization in England to receive an ‘Outstanding’ accreditation.

Request details:

CYN are requesting pro bono support for two of our buildings: Kingswood Estates and The Courts. As a charity they are fortunate to own the two buildings which provide space for our delivery and generate critical income that is reinvested into its work to support thousands of young people each year (in 2024 it generated 50% of the charity’s earned income).

The Kingswood Estates (KE) in South Gloucestershire is headquarters for CYN and home to 33 organisations that collectively make a profound impact on the lives and wellbeing of people in South Gloucestershire, Bristol and beyond.

As CYN prepares to open a space for new tenants, they are keen to assess the state of the structure (which was under dilapidations contract with Sense), and to receive expert advice on options for the space.

As such the charity are seeking pro-bono expertise to help with:

  1. Complete a schedule of condition.
  2. Complete a valuation of the property and
  3. Receive an options appraisal.
