About the Organisation

www.boltonguildofhelp.org.uk

The charity is celebrating 120 years of helping people in Bolton. It provides support and assistance to those experiencing financial and emotional distress. Funding comes from both legacies and external grants. The charity works closely with many other organizations in Bolton, such as Age UK and smaller local charities. Clients are assessed individually, and support is provided where necessary.

Assistance may include providing white goods, furniture, or other essential items for families, as well as fuel top-ups and referrals to other organizations. Debt and benefit support is a growing focus, along with helping clients complete forms such as PIP claims. Eligibility criteria include being on a low income and residing in Bolton.

Another area of support focuses on veterans and their families. The charity runs a weekly drop-in session, organizes events, and provides pastoral support.

Request details:

The Guild has received frequent feedback about the difficulties users face when navigating its website. Designed many years ago, the current website no longer meets the needs of the growing organisation. It fails to reflect the true heart of The Guild and the many ways it supports the Bolton community.

As The Guild continues to expand, a new website is essential—one that is clear, accessible, and effectively showcases its work. An improved platform will help those in need find support more easily, engage new supporters, and highlight the impact of its services.

To make this vision a reality, The Guild is seeking pro bono support with the designing of a new website.
