About the Organisation
YMCA London City and North has over 150 years of experience and specializes in engaging those who are hardest to reach. The organization focuses on creating secure housing environments and delivering a range of interventions that help young people build better futures.
YMCA LCAN provides nearly 400 safe bed spaces every night for homeless young people. By partnering with frontline organizations, they offer a stable living environment for up to two years, giving young people the opportunity to regain control of their lives after facing homelessness or living on a friend’s sofa.
Operating across the City and into North and East London, YMCA LCAN runs five units of accommodation. Founded in 1903, the need for their services in London remains urgent, as homelessness continues to rise. Each year, YMCA London City and North helps over 600 young people achieve self-sufficiency.

One of YMCA London City and North’s accommodation sites is Monarch Court, located in a leased building facing Victoria Park in Hackney. Monarch Court provides 87 bed spaces for young people who have experienced homelessness.
With the lease expiring soon, YMCA LCAN is exploring the potential to either purchase or continue renting the site from a private owner. Losing this building would be a significant blow, as it provides an essential, safe space for young people who have endured severe hardships in life.
To begin negotiations with the owner regarding the possibility of purchasing or renewing the lease, YMCA LCAN needs a valuation of the current building. The organisation is seeking a pro bono partner who can undertake this valuation and assist in securing the site for homeless young people in London for the long term, or help establish a new lease based on an independent rental valuation.
