About the Organisation

www.ymcalondoncan.org

YMCA London City and North has over 150 years of experience and specialises in engaging those who are hardest to reach. The organisation focuses on creating secure housing environments and delivering a range of interventions that help young people build better futures.

YMCA LCAN provides nearly 400 safe bed spaces every night for homeless young people. By partnering with frontline organizations, they offer a stable living environment for up to two years, giving young people the opportunity to regain control of their lives after facing homelessness or living on a friend’s sofa.

Operating across the City and into North and East London, YMCA LCAN runs five units of accommodation. Founded in 1903, the need for their services in London remains urgent, as homelessness continues to rise. Each year, YMCA London City and North helps over 600 young people achieve self-sufficiency.

The Harringay Club offers a week-round programme of gymnastics and dance activities for children and young people in north London, benefiting over one thousand participants every week.

Despite being the sole occupant of the building for many years, the organisation is only now able to secure a lease on the property, which is owned by the local council.

Securing this lease is vital to ensure the organisation has a say in the future of the building and the surrounding land, and to safeguard it long-term for the benefit of local families. As part of this process, a photographic record of the current state of the buildings must be taken by an independent organisation. And so they charity is eagerly seeking pro bono survey support with this.

With the lease signing expected soon, it is essential that this photographic documentation be completed as quickly as possible. Support for this effort will help ensure that over a thousand children and young people continue to benefit, improving their health and wellbeing.
